A. Astronomical Lines
Astronomical lines mean imaginary lines on the globe and maps used to locate a place, which consists of latitude (parallel) and longitude (meridien).
B. Latitude
Latitude means the transverse line that circles the earth's surface and divides the earth into two parts, namely north and south.
Latitude 0 degrees is also called the equator or the equator.
The distance from the latitude of the north pole is expressed in units of degrees, namely 0 degrees to 90 degrees north latitude.
The distance from the latitude to the south pole is expressed in units of degrees, which is 0 degrees to 90 degrees south latitude.
C. Longitude
Longitude means a line stretching from the north pole to the south pole, which is used to show the division of time zones.
The prime longitude of 0 degrees is also called the prime meridian, through the city of Greenwich (London, England).
Distance from 0 degrees longitude to the east as far as 180 degrees east longitude and to the west as far as 180 degrees west longitude.
Primary longitude is designated as an international sign of time (GMT / Greenwich Mean Time).
D. Eyes of the Wind
Wind direction / Orientation / Wind Direction means a direction that shows 4 main directions, namely north, south, east and west, as well as 12 other directions.
A directional device, namely a compass whose needle is always pointing north, as well as south and other directions can be determined.
E. Scale
Map scale means the comparison between the distance on the map and the actual distance on the earth's surface or in the field.
Scale can be expressed in terms of numbers and lines. For example, a scale of 1: 100,000 means that every 1 cm on the map indicates a distance of 100,000 cm or 1 km in the field or actual distance.
F. Inset Map
Map inset means that the part of the map drawn is a small map specifically contained in the map.
