Youtube Requirements Changes

You received an email because we updated the YouTube Terms of Service.

To clarify our terms and provide transparency to our users.

These requirements were also updated for users in the United States in November 2020.

These changes will not significantly change your access to or use of the YouTube services.

Summary of changes:
Facial recognition restrictions: The Terms of Service have stated that you may not collect any information that could identify a person without their permission. Although these terms include information related to facial recognition, the new Terms make it explicit.
YouTube's right to monetize: YouTube has the right to monetize all content on its platform and to serve ads on videos from channels that are not in the YouTube Partner Program.
Royalty payments and tax withholding / withholding: For creators who are eligible to receive revenue payments, those payments will be treated as royalties from a United States tax perspective and Google will withhold / collect taxes where required by law.

Make sure you read the changes to these Terms carefully. These new terms will go into effect on June 1, 2021 for users outside the United States.

By continuing to use YouTube after that date, you agree to the new Terms.

Please note that if you allow your child to use YouTube Kids, you are also agreeing to the new Terms on your child's behalf.
